What do you get when two moms enter a bar…

We're kidding - it was a café.

But the coffee was lit!

So here's the lowdown - I spotted Sara like a fish out of water. Born and raised in Southern California and having lived on St. Simons Island for seven years, I knew immediately that she was fresh from the west coast. I introduced myself, and we shared some details. Y'all, our kids are nearly the same age - it was destined! I scribbled my name and number on a piece of paper like a nervous teenager, and just like that, a mom affair was born.

A few years have passed now. Our daughters attend dance together, and our sons are in the same PreK class. On a Sunday morning, you’ll find our families together at the beach, coffee in hand, bags of fresh donuts, and inevitably someone missing a sandal.

About Line

Hi. We're Cynthia & Sara of St. SiMoms. Two friends who were lucky enough to find each other at a time when our kids were just tots. As a new-to-the-island mom and a new-mom-on-an-island, we quickly bonded over simple things, like "What are you doing with the kids today? How can we burn off this energy? Does the movie theater host birthday parties?" (Yes, it does.)

We’ve all heard 'find your tribe' and 'it takes a village.' But what if you just moved away from your tribe? Or you don’t know who your village is yet. It’s true - these are the days. But sometimes it feels more like the dog days, and just taking the kids to the park can feel overwhelming.

Our backgrounds are different. Sara and her family found St. Simons by way of FLETC. Cynthia followed her family to the southeast and met a life-long St. Simons local. But our mission for St. SiMoms is the same. To provide the community with a family-friendly site that provides the answers we were seeking in a fun and inclusive way.

St Simoms

We hope St. SiMoms arms you with valuable information and the tools to take on parenthood in the Golden Isles. We want to be a part of your tribe and your village. We want you to leave our site feeling empowered and ready to pack up the kids and try something new. Or call a babysitter and go on a date – we might do that too!

We believe that when we uplift one another, we build strong communities, improving families' physical, emotional, and social well-being. We believe in giving each other grace and that representation matters. We believe in loving hard, forgiving easily, and pizza Friday.

We are so grateful to have you here.

xo,
Cynthia & Sara… and the two husbands and five kids standing behind us waiting on a snack.
