FreeThe Federica Naval Action – April 19, 1775 was a significant date in the founding of our Nation – the “shot heard around the world” at Lexington and Concord, and the capture of British Vessels on the Frederica River at Saint Simons’ Island in 1778.
Day of Events:
10 a.m. – Memorial Ceremony – SAR Color Guard with Revolutionary Flags, Patriotic Music, Wreath Presentation, Cannon, and Musket Salutes. Volley fire from the Schooner Lynx from the harbor.
12 p.m. – The Parade of Patriots – The parade will start at the Lighthouse then proceed to the Pier then back to the Lighthouse. There will be the SAR Color Guard, the GCFD Antique Truck, DAR and SAR Revolutionary Reenactors, JROTC Cadets, Glynn County Students, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts Participating.
