A coastal favorite, the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival combines the classic southern dish with family-friendly entertainment, artist’s market, live music, food, and more. The island comes alive during this fun-filled festival, so mark your calendars for this award-winning event held in the Historic District of Jekyll Island, Georgia.
Friday, October 25, 2024: 4-9 p.m.
Saturday, October 26, 2024: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Some things to note:
- Admission to the festival is free. However, during this event, the Jekyll Island Parking fee will increase to an additional $5; annual passes are not impacted (if you’re local, we recommend just getting a yearly pass if you don’t already have one).
- Be prepared for it to take some time to get to the festival. In 2022, you had to drive around the north end of the island to park at the airport and then take shuttles and buses over to the festival.
- If you have little ones, we recommend bringing a stroller as it is quite a bit of walking.
- The 2023 festival did not include a kid’s section with rides, zip line, etc. Let’s hope they will add this back for 2024.
