If you’ve ever been to Southern Georgia in the summer, you know it gets HOT! You’ll want (and need) somewhere to take the edge off in the heat of the day, so we’ve rounded up options for places to cool off in the Golden Isles.

Cool Off at a Golden Isles Pool

St. Simons Island Pools

Neptune Park Pool

The Neptune Park Fun Zone features an incredible pool area. Access to the pool costs $8 per person daily, and children 3 and under are free. You can also purchase a 10-punch pass for $60. View season pass rates here.

The Neptune Park pool has something for everyone, including a wading pool and splash/water playground for the kids, lap lanes, and zero-entry access. American Red Cross-certified lifeguards monitor all areas of the pool.

You can also enjoy refreshments from their on-site concession stand while lounging poolside under an umbrella. The pool has a beautiful view of the St. Simons Sounds, and the kids will love watching the big ships go by.

The pool typically opens from Memorial Day through Labor Day. To be sure the pool is open before you go, we recommend calling 912-279-3720.

Spend a Day at Jekyll Island’s Summer Waves Water Park

Summer Waves

Summer Waves Water Park on Jekyll Island is a fantastic way to cool off when it’s hot and is perfect for families. They have numerous water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, a kid's splash/playground area, and more! If you plan to spend the entire day at Summer Waves, we recommend renting a cabana for guaranteed shade and beach chairs in prime park areas. The park opens on Weekends starting in May and is open seven days a week through the summer. Be sure to check their schedule before you go.

Discounted season passes are available to FLETC employees and contractors at the FLETC Express each year while supplies last.
