If you’ve ever been to Southern Georgia in the summer, you know it gets HOT! You’ll want (and need) somewhere to take the edge off in the heat of the day, so we’ve rounded up options for places to cool off in the Golden Isles.
The Neptune Park Fun Zone features an incredible pool area. Access to the pool costs $8 per person daily, and children 3 and under are free. You can also purchase a 10-punch pass for $60. View season pass rates here.
The Neptune Park pool has something for everyone, including a wading pool and splash/water playground for the kids, lap lanes, and zero-entry access. American Red Cross-certified lifeguards monitor all areas of the pool.
You can also enjoy refreshments from their on-site concession stand while lounging poolside under an umbrella. The pool has a beautiful view of the St. Simons Sounds, and the kids will love watching the big ships go by.

The Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island requires membership to enjoy the pool, but it’s a popular option for local families. Membership includes special perks like access to their members-only practice facility, access to our recreational features, special members-only events, and more. If you’re staying at the resort as a guest, access to the pool is included in your stay.
The pools at the Sea Island Resort are incredible and are available to resort guests and members. There are many pool options among the different resort locations, including indoor pools, outdoor pools, heated pools, private cabana rentals, a splash pad, and a water slide. The Brunswick Aquatics Center is located in Howard Coffin Park. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool features a water slide, a kiddie pool with water features, and is monitored by American Red Cross-certified lifeguards.
Access to the pool is $3 per person, per day. Children 3 and under are free and are required to wear a swim diaper. View season pass rates here.
The Seldon Park Pool in Brunswick is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Pool hours are 1-5 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, costing $2 per person. Your kids will love the splash pad area.
Mornings are reserved for swim lessons. American Red Cross swimming instructors provide lessons during the summer season. There are lessons available for children of all ages and levels of ability.
The Selden Park Pool is also available to rent during the summer season. Book a party Tuesdays through Saturdays from 5:30-8:30 pm. The fee for pool rental is $35 per hour and $10 per hour for lifeguards. One lifeguard is required for every 25 guests, with at least two lifeguards on duty throughout the event.
The Golden Isles YMCA features an indoor and outdoor pool with year-round hours. A membership is required to access the pool.
Brunswick's Orange Square splash pad opened in June 2024. This is a great addition to our community as the only public splash pad in the Golden Isles.
Summer Waves Water Park on Jekyll Island is a fantastic way to cool off when it’s hot and is perfect for families. They have numerous water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, a kid's splash/playground area, and more! If you plan to spend the entire day at Summer Waves, we recommend renting a cabana for guaranteed shade and beach chairs in prime park areas. The park opens on Weekends starting in May and is open seven days a week through the summer. Be sure to check their schedule before you go.
